11 Business Podcasts to Listen to While Under Coronavirus Lockdown

Podcasts are an excellent resource. You can listen to them while cooking dinner, typing up a report, working out, or walking your dog. An easy way to learn new strategies and develop your personal skills, podcasts are also great tools for staying up to date on what is happening in the business and marketing world while you are stuck indoors. Whatever your interests, there is a wealth of information out there; all you need to do is tune in.

Here’s a round-up of some of the best business-themed podcasts in 2020.

AKIMBO

Seth Godin’s podcast is all about culture. Akimbo is an ancient word symbolizing strength, possibility, and making a difference. If you’re looking to effect change in your company culture, this is a great place to start. One of the business world’s greatest thinkers, Seth’s style is engaging, thought-provoking and entertaining. His most recent episodes, naturally, relate to business in the time of coronavirus.

HOW I BUILT THIS

This podcast from NPR relates the stories of some of the world’s biggest businesses and is particularly useful if you’re looking to scale your business. Journalist and host Guy Raz interviews some of the key players - innovators, entrepreneurs, and idealists - to shed light on the entrepreneurial journey. Raz has a gift for getting his interviewees to open up, and it’s often eye-opening. Detailing both successes and failures, this podcast is full of life lessons.

THE BIZCHIX

Host Natalie Eckdahl is a successful businesswoman and mother to three, so she is an expert in time management and outsourcing at home and at work.

MARKETING OVER COFFEE

Marketing Over Coffee offers quick and easy-to-grasp marketing tips, recorded each week from a coffee shop by hosts Christopher Penn and John Wall. HBR IDEACAST

According to its website, HBR IdeaCast is “a weekly podcast featuring the leading thinkers in business and management.” The Harvard Business Review Is a well-established source of business news and information, and their podcast offers what you would expect with this pedigree. BBC BUSINESS DAILY

If you are interested in global business news, the BBC doesn’t disappoint. This podcast provides a daily dose of international news with a focus on how it impacts business, examines the global economy and its effects on business, and keeps you current on business trends.

BREAKING DOWN YOUR BUSINESS

Informal and chatty, hosts Brad Farris and Jill Salzman discuss the matters at the forefront of business owners’ minds; “How do I make more money without driving myself nuts? Why am I not a billionaire yet? How long is *that* going to take?”. Episodes are short and advice is straightforward, making this is a great resource for startups.
